Jr Spartan Football had many firsts this fall. 2022 has been a transformational year, in general!  The building blocks laid by the leaders of the past several years were rock solid. We are jumping off now!

Jr Spartan Football is a comparably new organization among many of the Jr GAC teams, as Howell Central High School just had its 25th birthday this year. The Jr Spartan Football program became official in 2016. 

Here are the highlights from this fall season!

► A trophy!!! 4th Grade Rookie Tackle brought home the Jr GAC Commissioner's Cup. Congrats, team! They finished the complete season 7-2. 

►FIVE of our 9 teams made it into the post-season. No easy feat in the Jr GAC - the toughest league around!!! Congrats to 1st and 2nd Grades in the Flag Division, 4th grade Rookie Tackle, and 6th and 8th in the Tackle Division!!! All levels K - 8 are looking forward to an even better 2023. 

► We had a complete team at every level, Kindergarten through 8th grade. And there is no turning back now. 

►We had 172 players on our rosters. That's a 46% growth year over year! We're going to keep growing, too. There are a lot of great athletes and families in the Howell Central community who are looking our way now and want to get in to be part of the construction process... It is a special time!!!

► We have fabulous engagement and support from our High School Program! New HS Football Head Coach Malach Radigan has infused and energy that is invigorating all of SpartanNation. 

►SpartanNation Athletic Director Scott Harris was just awarded St Louis Athletic Director of the Year!

►We have a dedicated Flag Division Coordinator who is making magical things happen at the Pre-K through 3rd grade level!

►We raised more money than we ever have through successful events, grassroots fundraising, amazing sponsors (be sure to check out our sponsors page!), and the hard work of volunteers throughout our organization. 

►We now have TONS of elite football experience embedded in the Jr Spartan organization - everything from NFL player level to every college player level (including D1). The combined youth football playing/coaching experience on just our Board of Directors alone surpasses 100 years. 

►We achieved Silver Shield Designation from USA Football! This is an award of excellence that requires outstanding achievement in many categories, from safety, to coaching certification and standards, to security, to organizational financial health, and much more.  

The Jr Spartan Board of Directors along with our fabulous Coaching Staff and Designated Team Parents are exceptionally committed and ready to get after 2023.
